As those of you who know me might suspect, I'm slightly upset with the "I don't know what to render, so I'll do my next pin-up / nude shot"-attitude taking over... Don't get me wrong, I do not speak against pin-ups or nudes; I've done my share of them. BUT I dislike that I often have the feeling I could name the pose set, environment, character and lighting set bought at the store of your trust and not even slightly tweaked. Again, nothing against using presets. I do, too, especially of course skins and environments, since my texturing and modeling skills are moderate at the best. But ONLY? Really, folks? That's like buying those pre-cut paper flowers, attatching them to a string and claiming you have been "creative". No, you have not. You did nothing on your own other than hanging a picture on a wall that somebody else painted.
You can do awesome art with rendering, even if you use only presets. But please, please, please, do at least SOMETHING originally yours to the pic! Camera Angle, lighting, pose, a self-posed accessoire in the background that relates to the pose, add a story... SOMETHING. Please.

10 Facts about Hagrim
I was tagged by @Telperion-Studio , thank you so much! Rules: - Post the following rules. - Post 10 facts about your OC. - Tag 3 to 10 people and be sure to include their avatars and the OC of theirs you want them to use. Let's begin! Hagrim is a dwarf of Highspirian origin. He was born and raised in the city of Highspire, when it was still located on its home planet, Chivia. He is about 160 years old, and an orphan. His parents died in a freak accident during a nightly thunderstorm, when a sudden gust of wind lit the hearth and a few sparks and embers flew around, one of them lighting the lamp oil, which in turn lit up the shelf, and the kitchen. His parents managed to get all of their kids out of the fire, but died themselves from smoke poisoning. Hagrim then came to the orphanage with his brother and his two sisters, where he stayed until he was about 28 and old enough to learn a craft. Since he was a dwarf, and “all dwarves are smiths” (his father had been a
Aaah! Close your eyes, there's a nipple!
Or: how NOT to take on nudity with children Any of you who has closely watched my art gallery has seen a fair share of nudity and erotic art. I love doing my RPG character portraits and funny things, but I'm a grown-up woman, and my three little kids prove that I know my way around sexuality. I do not negate my drives and urges, and therefore, I admit that I do love a nice erotic image and I do love making them. But you just said you have children. You do your art only at night, don't you? No. We live a healthy, natural life, and our children do know how a male and female body look, because we shower together, and Mommy and Daddy don't squeal and cover themselves rapidly when one of them walks into the bathroom. So, no, I don't cover my artistic nudity images for my children. They know where the babies come from, although they haven't asked for the process of making yet. But in our house, the stork is just a bird. I do not cover art where tenderness is the focus, or that doesn't show
Challenge Month: Purple Dreams
A little early, I know, but I don't know if I manage to post tomorrow, so here is the October Challenge for StoryPics: Purple Dreams I didn't have anything in mind with it. Just roll with the title. Dreamscapes. Royals (purple is a royal colour). A purple palette. Whatever :) Just have fun creating! Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
Challenge Month: The final step
One... final... step... and it's done! Finally! Finished! But be careful, watch your step! Because stumbling around in joy can be easily your last step, sending you over the edge of the cliff... In July 2020, I'd like to see you making THE FINAL STEP for somebody or something. An alchemist putting the last ingredient to his love potion. A marathon runner making the final steps through the finishing line. The final puzzle piece before it's done. Or the last step from the windowsill after the stock market's fatal baisse... I'd love to see your ideas for this theme. As always, finished images are fine, all art mediums welcome, and you may of course submit after July 31st - the "deadline" is only for those who need it.
